Meet BELLA | AVAILABLE SOON! | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY | EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG ---) La vita ̬ bella. Life is beautiful. We know our grey brindle girl Bella thinks so! Our sweet orphan Bella came from the OC shelter in December where she was not made available for adoption due to her fear of the world. She'd had a recent litter and was in poor shape and super thin, fur dull and lifeless and missing in several places. We haven't had an easy time of it either, with her first foster home not working out and having to board this terrified dog at a noisy kennel for the last two months. Thankfully another family has offered to help our pup, and she leaves the scary boarding kennel this weekend for a warm, quiet foster home. Yay Bella!! We've been doing our best to provide nourishment and care for Bella while stuck in boarding, but working on skin and health stuff is never easy in any kennel situation. She looked terrible when she first arrived at our kennel two months ago, but with the help of dedicated volunteers who take her out for walks and home for medicated baths, she's definitely looking a lot better. Her fur has filled in and she's put on a little weight. We know those improvements will continue once she's in a good foster home. Bella is a little over 60 lbs and could still use more weight on her petite frame. She's under 2 years old, just a puppy, with a corso style docked tail and thankfully whole ears (yay! #stopthecrop). Bella is puppy clumsy, like a female Marmaduke BOL, and we're trying to help her gain confidence and trust so she can live a less anxious life with the right family. Bella is as gorgeous on the inside as out. She's a sweet young girl who desperately wants to be loved. She attaches quickly to people she learns to trust and gets along well with most other dogs (though very little dogs and very small children may get bowled over by her enthusiasm). She has a medium energy and will make a great house pet, and with the help of her loving foster parents, she'll be perfecting her house manners and skills while building confidence with her surroundings. We can't wait to see her learn to be a dog again, with the help of her ambassadog foster fur brother :) Stay tuned for pupdates as we're finally able to get Bella's rehab underway! ---) IN THE MEANTIME, PLEASE VIEW THE LATEST ON BELLA ON FACEBOOK AT: https://www.facebook.com/pg/waggingdogrescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1363930796964751 (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-05-01-00449TUCKER (Adopt Pend) (male)|
Meet TUCKER --- ADOPTION PENDING --- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY --- EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG --- Tucker is all play, all day - except when it's nap time (which, conveniently, is while you're getting work done!). He's a real comedian, always coming up with antics that will make you laugh - as if he needs to try. You'll be cracking up as soon as he prances past, or springs around the yard like a deer! BOUNCE! This pup has a great sense of humor. One of his favorite jokes is to follow you around, grab anything you drop, and run away so you'll chase him. It's a good thing that even when he steals things, like socks, they return unharmed - he's only destructive to chew toys and squeakers. Such a good little guy. SO how did this adorable 10 pound, 6 month old Min Pin puppy come to be with us? His previous owner sadly passed away, leaving him homeless and somewhat lacking in discipline. Tucker has a terrier-like disposition that respects strong leadership, and we think he'll do best in an experienced home. His foster family has provided a good foundation in manners and respecting boundaries (figuratively and literally - he gate trains fast). Tucker needs a single family home (no shared walls) and a secure yard - he's a curious pup and can't resist a gap in the fence or an open gate! It's for this reason we would rather not place him in a home with children - it's too easy for them to accidentally let him out, and then he's off exploring. Tucker has that puppy-dog 'I love EVERYBODY!' personality, including big dogs. He's not intimidated by anything or anyone, and will invite anything on two or four legs to play with him. He loves to play so much that toys are his primary motivation, even over treats. Even though he's young, he's got the most important skills down pat, like being house broken, and coming back in on the command 'inside.' He's going to grow into a guy that needs a job - it's a Miniature Pinscher breed characteristic. His current fosters think he's got strong potential in dog agility, flyball, lure coursing and barn hunt events. He's quick, smart, and cute as a button - the perfect little Min Pin companion. And, he loves wearing doggie sweaters. Could he GET any CUTER?! ---) ***UPDATE 6/13/17 - Tucker has an adoption pending and is now in a Foster-To-Adopt (FTA) period with a potential adopter. During this period the adopter and dog have a chance to try each other out and make sure this is a perfect match. If things don't work out, the dog will return to the rescue and be able to meet with other adopters. Otherwise, the adopter can finalize the adoption at the end of the FTA period or any time during, at which time our dog listing will be removed. Meanwhile, we are still accepting applications and encourage you to contact us as soon as possible if you are interested in giving this dog a loving home. ))) TO VIEW MORE PHOTOS AND PUP-DATES OF TUCKER, PLEASE VISIT HIM ON FACEBOOK AT: https://www.facebook.com/pg/waggingdogrescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1355443064480191 (Less)

Meet CORA | AVAILABLE - SPECIAL NEEDS | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY | EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG | Got scruff? Need scruff? Welp, we've got The Scruffalupagus for you! Meet WDR's bearded lady Cora, short for Corazíün. She's our special needs 10 lb. terrier blend with a rare congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF). Cora's heart has a combination of 4 defects, one of which is a very tiny hole between two chambers. Her ticker just ain't put together like most hearts. Does she care? Nope! This kid is so full of life, affection and energy - and after extensive vetting and diagnostics, our team feels that Cora the Explora has a great chance of living an almost full lifespan! YAY! And what a life she has ahead of her. Our 18 month old pup has so much pep, play, and personality! We're not sure what mix created Cora (sugar, spice, everything nice - with a dash of Tabasco?) but she's definitely terrier to the max. She's a riot to watch with a ball, though when it's work time (or sleep time) she settles down beautifully in your lap, on your bed, or in her crate (yes, she's 100% crate and house trained). Cora can be a stubborn child sometimes. Like most terrier types, she's not a stupid dog. She'll excel with pet parents who understand leadership and the terrier way lol, and she's super responsive to humans willing to guide her path to exemplary canine adulthood. We'd love to see Cora in a quiet, low energy home environment as either an only dog or with just one other playful doggie companion. She's definitely prone to be the dominant one in any relationship so strong leadership is needed. Once that's established, she's a total cuddlebug. When you're *her* person, she does the cutest thing - she'll come at you full force and LEAP into your arms! A single family home with a yard to enjoy is ideal. If your other dog barks, Cora backs it up with her own song. Because of her special needs, Cora's Forever Family will need to be extra special too. Her activity needs to be moderated to a degree, so when she's left home alone she'll be safest in her crate. As a special needs dog, Cora has extra annual veterinary needs. In addition to regular maintenance vet care, her blood (PCV) should be checked quarterly, with a yearly echocardiogram (which can run in excess of $500). And of course, since Cora is such a rarity, we really hope her future parents will want to stay in touch with us over the years :) Most vets go their entire careers never meeting a ToF dog, and our vets and specialists are so interested in her future. So are we!! If you've a love for terriers and the scruff that comes with them, please reach out about our special scruffy puppy Cora the Explora! Questions about Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF)? MEET SUNSHINE --- AVAILABLE --- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY --- EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG --- Prepare for your heart to melt when you meet our beautiful golden girl Sunshine. Her sweet, shy demeanor longing to be loved is simply irresistible. A petite pit bull terrier around 10 years young and aged to perfection, Sunny is the perfect size companion at 45 pounds. This incredible survivor is a gal who never ceases to amaze us, and she's ready to share her specialness with forever folks who are special too. Sound like you? Sunshine's foster parents say she's the best furry family member, so quiet, mellow and loving. She remains very shy and timid, and it's heartwarming to see a low tail wag of excitement when you come home. If she wants more attention, she'll give your calf a little nudge (3 Sunshine is extremely sensitive to loud noises and is looking for a calm, quiet home environment to enjoy forevermore. Sun is a big fan of food, and you wouldn't believe how excited she gets when it's meal time :) A quiet girl herself, she barks her joy during food prep. Hehe! Sunny really loves her canine foster family too and hopes for a calm older dog around her own size or bigger who will enjoy being with her. She thinks cats and small animals provide lots of fun to chase so will be best suited for a home without these friends. Turtles with their slow calm energy however, are A-okay in her book. She just wants a peaceful home with no young (loud) children and parents who like to go for walks and spend time together. Do you have the perfect future for our deserving ray of light? Ready to fill your home and heart with golden love this year? Reach out and see why we are all so smitten. --- ) To view additional photos and pup-dates of Sunshine, please visit her on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.813849111972925.1073741902.294289027262272&type=3 (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-01-03-00126FIDGET (male)|
MEET FIDGET | AVAILABLE! | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY | EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG ---) Do you need some extra HAPPY in your life? Cuz we've got the HAPPIEST dog of all just waiting to bring a smile to your face! Say hello to WDR's resident tripod Fidget! Our handicapable guy has a zest for life that's truly catching. Fidget isn't defined by his 3 legs and can do anything a 4-legged dog can do - with way more enthusiasm :) He's one of the most people-loving dogs we've ever met. He loves children of all ages and is especially sweet and caring if anyone is hurting. He's one of those special dogs that's totally in tune with his humans. Fidget's favorite things: (1) Meeting new people - The doorbell is the best sound in the WORLD! He gets excited but only barks once, just to let you know something EXCITING is happening! (2) Matching your energy - Time to watch TV and relax? Great, he'll snuggle down in his bed with a toy. Time to walk or run a mile or two? He's so ready. (3) Peanut butter treats - Fidget works hard fo' the money. He's great on commands and enjoys showing off his tricks. (4) The neighborhood kids - All the local kids adore Fidget, and the feeling is mutual. He's been exemplary with his diligent foster family's newborn baby. He isn't overly interested, keeps a respectful distance, and might offer a sniff once a day with a happy tail wag. Our favorite things about Fidget: (1) He's got the best smile, from ear to ear. It's an engaging smile that says I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! and it's always splitting his giant head in two =D before dancing into his big brown eyes. (2) He's fully crate trained, house broken, sleeps in his crate and often puts himself to bed. (3) He's very food motivated and enjoys training time and learning new tricks. (4) Fidget is a powerfully positive dog. Sure, he didn't have the easiest childhood - he came from a local reservation where he was injured and rescued by local authorities at just 10 months old, needing to have his broken leg amputated - but he's a forward-looking dog who doesn't carry his past with him. And he looks forward to giving all of his love and smiles to you. Check out Fidget and his Jolly Egg BOL - https://youtu.be/dDYmT3GYlDg. ))) Fidget is about 4 years young and a solid 55 pounds. He may be missing a limb but he's a big, strong boy who didn't need that extra one. He'll do best in a home with people who live a leadership lifestyle with their animals. He prefers clearly defined boundaries and rules and is happy to work for the nice things in his life. He would love a family with children and/or lots of people, but Fidge will do best as an only pet and is excellent at entertaining himself at home while you're away. Just because he's down a leg, don't let that lull you into thinking he doesn't require exercise. He enjoys at least one walk a day, with frequent rest breaks, and can certainly be ready to go out for a second or third jaunt in the fresh air. He's fixed and current on everything, and we'd be happy to provide professional training to ensure a successful future with his new family. If you're a savvy dog-leader who can't resist a great smile, please contact us ASAP! ))) TO VIEW MORE PHOTOS AND PUP-DATES ON FIDGET, PLEASE VISIT HIM ON FACEBOOK AT: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.708085535882617.1073741871.294289027262272&type=3 (Less)
